Official URL: http://www.australianarchaeologicalassociation.com.au/node/1191 AbstractThirty-one previously unreported prehistoric sites are described from karst
locations in the mountainous Mae Hong Son province of far northwestern
Thailand. These sites variously contain stone tools, ceramics, bronze and
iron artefacts, food refuse, a wood carving and, most conspicuously, large
wooden coffins with some human remains. The earliest sites contain typically
Hoabinhian assemblages while most recent may relate to Lawa'
occupation prior to the advent of Shan peoples in the area ~ 0.8 ka BP. | Item Type: | Article |
