AbstractLocated in the Leven Valley only 32 km inland from Ulverstone and jsut 12 km upstream
from Gunns Plains, Loongana is a very quiet district that can seem almost remote. Despite
the short linear distance between Gunns Plains and Loongana the road must bypass a deep
non-carbonate gorge, Leven Canyon, that cuts through the Loongana Range. In the Loongana
area the limestone valley floor lies at 400 - 420 m altitude; to the south lies Black Bluff
(1339 m) and to the north the Loongana Range (860 m). | Item Type: | Book Section |
