Professor Ian Howard is currently the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales and has been a practicing artist since 1968. Howard’s practice concentrates on the theme of the relationship between civilian and military cultures, and their material and symbolic products. In 2009 he undertook work on the Israeli Barrier in Palestine where he worked extensively with Australian, British and USA defense forces, including the Pentagon, gaining access to highly secret facilities and equipment. Howard has also undertaken work on the Berlin Wall (1973) and the Great Wall of China (finished 2000). He has exhibited extensively throughout Australia and internationally. | Item Type: | Video |
