Abstract

Sydney based Andrew Johnstone will speak about the creative projects that he is involved with. These include - the Semi-Permanent creative conferences, Design is Kinky and Empty magazine. He will discuss the different paths that creatives can take in order to have a successful career in the design/art world.

Andrew Johnstone studied graphic design at the University of Wollongong. After a stint overseas he began working as a designer for various small studios, and in his spare time created the web site Design is Kinky. Design is Kinky in turn created the opportunity to start the Semi-Permanent events, which have been running for 8 years, and are Australia's leading creative conferences. During this time Andrew also started and still publishes Empty magazine.
