Abstract

Meteorological records recorded at the Observatory, Hobart Town. Also includes leafing, flowering, and fruiting times of a few standard plants in the Royal Societies gardens for the month of April, 1864. The present month has been more fatal to life than any April of the previous seven years. The meteorological phenomena generally, both in daily phases and the means of the month, depart considerably from the usual character of the month.

Additional Information:	In 1843 the Horticultural and Botanical Society of Van Diemen's Land was founded and became the Royal Society of Van Diemen's Land for Horticulture, Botany, and the Advancement of Science in 1844. In 1855 its name changed to Royal Society of Tasmania for Horticulture, Botany, and the Advancement of Science. In 1911 the name was shortened to Royal Society of Tasmania
