AbstractIncludes list of members, list of fellows, minutes of the annual general meeting of 30th January 1871, report of the session of the 8th March 1870, receipts and expenditure and statement of funds, gardens, museum, books purchased and presented during 1870, list of presentations to the museum with names of donors, plants sent from the Royal Society, plants and seeds supplied for the decoration of public places during 1870, plants and seed received at the Royal Societies gardens and plants introduced to the gardens.

| Additional Information: | In 1843 the Horticultural and Botanical Society of Van Diemen's Land was founded and became the Royal Society of Van Diemen's Land for Horticulture, Botany, and the Advancement of Science in 1844. In 1855 its name changed to Royal Society of Tasmania for Horticulture, Botany, and the Advancement of Science. In 1911 the name was shortened to Royal Society of Tasmania. |
