On some new Tasmanian marine shells

Abstract

In the Proceedings of the Royal Society for last year (1875), I published descriptions of 82 new marine shells occurring in the Tasmanian seas. I have now to bring under the notice of the Society an equal number which have been derived from the following sources:—1st. From Mr. Ronald Gunu, F.L.S., the eminent botanist, so long connected with your Society, whose extensive collections, extending over many years, were placed at my disposal for description and type specimens of all presented to the Museum. 2nd. From the collections made by Mr. W. F. Petterd, during some years past, which were purchased by a few gentlemen and presented to the Society, to which also several new and rare species were added by the collector.
