AbstractDetailed description of new species of fish, from the family Lophotidae, caught near Emu Bay on the North West Coast of Tasmania. Dr. Gunther
states that the fishes of this family are of very rare occurrence,
and hitherto only known to exist in the seas of Japan
and the Mediterranean.

In 1855 its name changed to Royal Society of Tasmania for Horticulture, Botany, and the Advancement of Science. In 1911 the name was shortened to Royal Society of Tasmania. |
