Map & select directory of Hobart Town by F. Proeschel which shows streets, public buildings, churches, schools. The continuation
of Davey Street (from Murray Street to Constitution Dock) shown
by dotted lines, Gas Company, cemeteries etc.
Also directory of
public buildings, schools, merchants, auctioneers, tradesmen, etc.

Frederick Proeschel (1809-1870) was a successful French map-maker and publisher. In 1863 he issued his Atlas of Australasia, based on his earlier maps of the eastern Australian colonies, together with new material. It is held in Special & Rare Collections (Morris Miller-Royal Society Rare-EFolio DU 115 .P76 1863)

Map condition is brittle and torn. Paper on canvas. Size: 62 cm x 46 cm.
