Abstract

I have the honour to report that, in obedience to instructions from His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor, I
recently proceeded to the Mersey and Don Rivers to examine
the tract of country there on which coal was said to have
been found ; and that I also devoted a week to the examination
of both banks of the Tamar, from Whirlpool Reach
downwards, with reference to a surmise of coal existing
there.
