AbstractWe identify a class of PROLOG programs that can be used as the specification of the functional programs. Using the mode information, the functions needed to construct the functional program are identified. The function definitions may then be derived from the clauses in PROLOG specification. Rules have been given for constructing a FP-like definition for the function representing the user query.
The methodology makes an extensive use of the algebra of functional programs to simplify and consolidate these representations. The methodology has been illustrated using an example. | Item Type: | Article |
