Abstract

Methylmercury(II) forms complexes [MeHgL]+[NO3]- (L = bidentate ligand) having three-coordinate mercury; an X-ray crystal structure analysis shows that the complex with 2,2’-bipyridyl has a planar CHgN2 group with unsymmetrically chelated 2,2’-bipyridyl.
