Abstract

Letters from James Backhouse in York, England to James Backhouse Walker in Tasmania. James Backhouse was travelling companion and friend to James Backhouse Walker's father George Washington Walker. He discusses the health of his sisters Elizabeth and Sarah Backhouse and his niece Sarah, the travels of Isaac Sharp and other Friends, transporting plants from Tasmania in Wardian cases including Droseras.
