Abstract

Draft letters from Jane, Lady Franklin to Dr. Turnbull and the Bishop (Bishop Nixon) and a copy of 'Sir John's letter to the Bishop of Australia left at Portland Bay'. The first is addressed Huon, 6 March, 1843 the second and last 'Flying Fish' 21 March, 1843 and 6th December 1843. These are essentially letters of farewell to dear friends of the Franklin's on their departure from Van Diemen's Land. RS 16/1(3)
