This new technique can provide information on the most primitive magma compositions, olivine 'spine melt' compositional relationships, crystallization temperature and geochemical diversity of parental melts. The study of melt inclusions in spinel can be applied to different high-Mg suites to show the effects of shallow level fractionation, mixing and contamination that usually affect the composition of volcanic rocks and glasses. date: 1996 date_type: published publication: Earth and Planetary Science Letters volume: 142 number: 3-4 pagerange: 479-486 id_number: 10.1016/0012-821X(96)00117-3 institution: University of Tasmania thesis_type: UNSPECIFIED refereed: TRUE official_url: http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/0012-821X(96)00117-3 citation: Kamenetsky, VS (1996) Methodology for the study of melt inclusions in Cr-spinel, and implications for parental melts of MORB from FAMOUS area.
