Abstract

Trying to secure all the books Clark wants.Glad that he got on well with Moncure Conway and approves of the latest scion being dubbed 'Conway'. Walter and I intended to go down the bay to Portsea on the prince of Wales' birthday but missed the boat. Managed to catch the steamer to Geelong instead. Another trek took us to Brighton beach and to a cemetary close by to view Adam Lindsay Gordon's grave. Wasn't able to play in the chess competition because of internal politics but has been made vice president of the new Victorian Chess and Draughts Club.Letters between Andrew Inglis Clark, Tasmania and Joseph G.
