Abstract

Tasmanian State Architect Peter Poulet will be discussing ‘ARTISTS IN PUBLIC ENVIRONMENTS’.

Poulet has over 20 years experience in Australia & Japan in private & government architectural offices. As well as continuing his career as a painter with regular exhibitions in Sydney & Melbourne. He has also been artist in residence at the Arthur Boyd’s property, Bundanon & at the New England Regional Gallery.

As a Monbusho scholar Poulet lived for two years in Japan, worked for Toyo Ito & Hisayo Koyama whilst studying Tokyo University. He exhibited in a group exhibition at the Tokyo Museum of Modern Art & at Lunami Gallery.

As the Tasmanian State Architect Poulet:
• Advocates for quality design & sustainable built outcomes across the State of Tasmania
• Provides strategic and independent advice to Government on matters relating to planning, urban design, architecture & heritage
• Maintains collaborative working relationships with State agencies & stakeholder groups to develop a shared vision of the built environment
• Develops best practice guidelines to create better & more sustainable urban environments & buildings
