Abstract

A series of letters written in 1880 firstly from Isabella Walker to her mother Sarah regarding her engagement to Tom Crosby. Sarah gives her consent despite being unhappy because Tom is not a Friend. Charles Crosby writes to Sarah about Tom's character, Sarah replies and there are more letters from Sarah to Tom, a note from Sarah to James Backhouse Walker and Tom's reply to Sarah mentioning a promise to Isabella not to drink.
