Abstract
This engaging study, by James Walter with
Tod Moore, offers a comprehensive survey
of Australian political life. So far as I am
aware, there is no better overview of unfolding
circumstances or of the ideas through
which their meanings were interpreted. It joins
a pr´ecis of issues and developments to the
ideas that mediated their resolution
