Abstract

Certificate of enrolment of substitute to serve in place of A. Gatenby, Appleton le Moors, North Riding of Yorkshire, namely Robert Graystock, wheelwright. Andrew Gatenby (1771-1848) farmer, of Yorkshire, U.K. and Wales emigrated to V.D.L. in 1823 and founded Barton Mill and received grants of land, Coburg, Woodburn, Pisa etc.
