Abstract

Robert M. Johnston was the Tasmanian Government statistician. In 1899 and he prepared some notes relating to the history of the Launceston and Deloraine Railway in response to a request from Hon. William Moore, M.L.C., Chief Secretary and Registrar of Records.
Collection consists of handwritten notes by R.M. Johnston dated 25.9.1899, titled Launceston and Western Railway Company Case. Includes some copy book sheets, stapled together (RS76/1) . Also pamphlet titled Launceston and Western railway no loss to the country : Promoters v. Antagonists - signed CRITO, Launceston July 1872, Stephenson and Whitaker, Printers, Launceston (RS76/2)
