Abstract
Talks about the weather in Melbourne, the physical and mental health of himself. The Victorian Chess and Draughts Club is flourishing. The Melbourne Chess Club are so moribund and are endeavouring to to induce an amalgamation which won't happen. He is trying to start a chess column in the 'Federal Australian'. Attending meetings of Unitarianism; meeting the new minister Mr Walters and his wife and farewelling Mrs Webster who is going back to England at the end of the year. Mr Walters has some new and challenging ideas but he is quite in sympathy with this movement. He thinks he is an earnest man and he meets with great favour from the cream of the Unitarian congregation. Letters between Andrew Inglis Clark, Tasmania and Joseph G.
