Abstract

A new species of freshwater amphipod, Paracalliope larai, is described, the first
description of a species of the genus Paracalliope from Tasmania. P. larai is found
in the Dip River, north-western Tasmania. The distribution of the genus in Tasmania
is briefly discussed.
