Abstract
Unknown photographer and unknown subjects. Bequeathed by John Murray Harrisson, great grandson of John Lee Archer, 1941. Carte de Visite photographs--small albumen prints, 54.0 mm (2.125 in) × 89 mm (3.5 in) mounted on a card sized 64 mm (2.5 in) × 100 mm (4 in). In the 19th century, cartes de visite were a very popular as calling cards. They had a definite format, which was an international standard. Cartes from the 1860's have square corners and are thinner than those made in the 1870's.
Not dated but all have square corners. RS.123/16
