Abstract

Correspondence from Captain William Wood, Hawkridge, Snake Bank, Van Diemen's Land addressed to John Leake (1780-1865)
of Rosedale, near Campbell Town. Letters sent to John Leake from Captain William Wood of Hawkridge, 1850-1851 regarding transportation and the anti-transportation movement. References to letter sent to the paper and a call for a meeting on the ruination of the prospects for agriculture and population in the colony if transportation was to end. Molesworth's address to the house, formation of a committee, Mr.William Race Allison should represent Campbelltown. Remarks regarding Mr. Kermode.
