Abstract

Chart of Terra Australis by Matthew Flinders, Commander of H.M. Sloop
"Investigator". South coast sheet V, 1798, 1802-3 (published as the Act directs by G. & W. Nicol Feb. 1st 1814).

This map includes Bass Strait, King Island, and the Furneaux Islands, along with several others. It depicts the north coast of Van Diemen's Land, including Port Dalrymple [Tamar River], and part of the south east coast of Australia including Port Philip. It also includes inset plans of Port Dalrymple and Port Philip. Paper, linen backed. Size: 88 cm x 60 cm.
Presented to Royal Society of Tasmania by T.W. Fowler 1913.
