The development of supervision and placement activities log was undertaken during July and August 2003. It was trialled as a pilot in September and October 2003 as part of the Building Connections in Aged Care Project Stage 1. The purpose of the development of this tool was to establish who supervised undergraduate nurses and the level of direct and indirect supervision they received during their clinical placement. There was also an interest in what activities were undertaken by undergraduate nurses while on clinical placement in residential aged care facilities. The development and rationales of design of the tool remain unpublished.
