Abstract

A letter from the Principal Medical Officer to Dr GF Story, dated 19th October 1841, informing him that another medical officer, Mr Teush, had been ordered to relieve him of his services. A second letter, dated 30 December 1843, states that district surgeons were to be dispensed with altogether. A 'Copy of a Clause' concerning the 'Laws relating to the building, repairing, and regulating' of gaols and houses of correction is included with the second letter.
