Abstract
Dr Story's copy of Francis Abbott's paper on sugar beet, read at a evening meeting of The Royal Society of Tasmania in 1871. The paper formed part of an ongoing investigation of the ideal growing conditions of this plant, and highlighted the importance of it as a crop for Tasmania. From Cotton Family Papers C7/117
