Abstract
A letter from Dr George Fordyce Story to Joseph Benson Mather, Kelvedon 13 July 1850. Story writes about the Cotton family, and the unfortunate case of 'Poole', who was being trialed for the killing of two bullocks. Story also writes about the 'Schoutens' (Schouten Island) and the large quantity of bone that could be 'procured from beneath the sand' there (presumable whale bone from previous hunts).
