Abstract
Lakes Hume and Mulwala have very similar plankton
communities in which Melosira granulata Ralfs is dominant.
The species composition and the plankton quotients show the
two lakes are mesotrophic. Most of the algae seen are well-known
and widespread. Micrasterias Hardyi G.S. West has only been
recorded from Australia.
