Abstract

Alan Burn (1889-1959) B.E. (Syd.), M.Sc. (Tas.), LLD. (Lond.), M.I.E. (Aust.) was Professor of Engineering 1919-1955, Vice-Chancellor 1945-1949 and Acting V.C. April to June 1953. His research included studies of aerofoil theory, vortex wind tunnel, hydraulics, centrifugal and axial pumps, and stress. The papers in this collection were transferred from the basement of the Engineering Building in 1986, and include Professor Burn's research notes 1920-1955, comprising a box of 17 folders.
