Cyto-taxonomic studies in the proteaceae

This Thesis embodies the writer' s observations on the Cyto-taxonomy of the Proteaceae carried out in the Botany Department, University of Tasmania, Hobart, during the tenure of a Colombo Plan Research Fellowship (1955 - 57). The Thesis is presented in two volumes. Volume I contains the observations on five tribes of the Persoonioideae viz., Persoonieae, Placospermeae, Conospermeae, Proteeae and Franklandieae and two tribes of the Grevilloideae viz., Macadamieae and Grevilleae. Volume II contains observations on the remaining five tribes of the Grevilloideae viz., Oriteae, Banksieae, Musgraveae Telopeae and Embothrieae, a general discussion on the phylogeny, evolution within the family, and its affinities, location or the place of origin of the family and its spread, and also roferences to literature and appendices. An article \The Cyto-taxonomy of the Proteaceae\" has been accepted for publication in the Proceedings of the Linnean Society of New South Wales."
