Abstract

Letter dated 6th February, 1868 from William Alfred Pearce to his brother, describing weather, ship, heavy rigged and making 20 inches water a day, to be caulked in Mauritius. Pearce was a third year apprentice on the brig "Wild Wave" 1865-1866. Born in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia in 1845, second son to Henry Pearce and Mary Ann Heath. William Alfred Pearce married Julia Romerg and had 5 children. He passed away in 1930 in Devonport, Tasmania.
