Abstract
Senior entrepreneurship may be either a career option or a form of entrepreneurial activity in later life. This article investigates how senior entrepreneurs interact withindefined entrepreneurial themes, and provides a narrative of recommendations to enhance active ageing. Based on a qualitative study of 90 Australian respondents, wesuggest how senior entrepreneurs perceive their entrepreneurial environment, particularly around themes of motivations, other people’s attitudes, measures of success, satisfaction, opportunities, barriers, skills, education and training, support, networks andbenefits. We argue that if senior entrepreneurship is to be enhanced, entrepreneurs andpolicy need to be aware and sensitive to the diversity of themes influencing entrepreneurial activities.
