Abstract
The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of prblem-based learning on theachievement in Mathematic course. PBL is a learning method based on constructivisttheory and it is known to be effective in terms of affective attributions such as academicsuccess attitude and motivation. The study was designed in the realm of mixed split-plotexperimental method (2X2). The data collection instrument was the achievement testprepared by the researcher. The mathematical achievement of the students was evaluatedin two different levels. The first level demonstrates Problem - Based Learning method.,whereas the second level stands for the lecture method. Two-way ANOVA was used forrepeating measures on one factor in order to analyze the data. As a result, the achievementlevels of each student group who was exposed to two different teaching methods werefound out to be different after the experiment. However, the difference was not significant.
