Abstract

Self-management strategies such as following a diet plan, avoiding high fat foods, increased exercise and self-glucose monitoring to navigate daily decisions havebeen shown to improve health outcomes for adults with type 2 diabetes. However, translating evidence-based recommendations into practical strategies has provenchallenging and many individuals fail to achieve the glycaemic management neededto avoid diabetes-related complications. This article aims to provide practicalstrategies to support health professionals to engage adults with diabetes in exercisein a meaningful way.
