Abstract
The Tasmanian Institute of Law Enforcement Studies (TILES) publishes regular BriefingPapers on topics related to the Institute's research program. Our fourteenth Briefing Paper, prepared by Dr Bartkowiak-Théron and Dr Asquith reviews and critically examines themeaning - as well as the policy and practice implications - of the term 'vulnerability' in thecontext of policing. The authors illustrate the relevance of current debates on the policingof vulnerability through a number of vignettes drawn from other key policing scholars. Theyconclude by pointing to new conceptualisations of 'vulnerability' emerging in the field of lawenforcement and public health.
