Abstract

Concentration on the growth of crops has been a hot spot of research. In order to investigate the salt stress on wheat seedlings into shape, with 4 salt tolerance of different barley varieties were studied at different times, different salt (NaCl) of barley seedling root, root length, fresh weight and Ya Chang . The results show that: (1) barley has strong universal salt, but different species of salt-tolerant capability exists significant differences. Most of the barley varieties, 0.3 percent saline following germination of seedlings of the main organs of the little effect on growth, and better able to complete the seedlings into shape, 0.5 percent more than saline seedlings of the main organs of the growth and development have a greater impact. (2) In addition to the different salt on the 10d seedling germination Ya Chang had no significant impact, the salt on the germination of barley seedlings 5d and 10d of the main characters have had a significant impact, but as the Germination time, the concentration of seedlings of the main characters The impact has declined.
Salinity is one of the major abiotic stresses affecting agricultural production. Four barley cultivars, differing in salt tolerance, were used to study the effect of salt on the growth of barley seedlings. The traits measured included; number of roots per seedling, root length, shoot length and fresh weight of seedlings. Standard germination techniques were employed using blotting paper saturated with different NaCl solutions (water, 0.15%, 0.3%, 0.5%, and 1.0% NaCl) at 20℃. The results showed significant differences among barley cultivars. A solution of 0.3% or less NaCl showed very little effect on the seedling growth for all the cultivars. However, when the concentrations of NaCl were increased to more than 0.5%, the seedling growth of all the cultivars was significantly affected. The effect of salinity on seedling growth in its early stage (5 days after germination), was more obvious than that at 10 days after germination. Thus, for preliminary evaluation of salinity tolerance, the best criteria are number of roots per seedling, root length, shoot length and fresh weight of seedlings after 5 days of germination under 0.5% or 1.0% NaCl solution.
