Abstract
Thirty adults (20 males, 10 females)
ranging from 19–63 years of age (mean age¼
32 yrs). All had acquired communication impairment
from traumatic brain injury (n¼24), ischemic cerebrovascular
accident (n¼3), encephalopathy (n¼2)
or a brain tumor (n¼1). Ten adults were further
diagnosed with dysarthria and three with aphasia
