Abstract
Let us first put our mind to a scenario in the West, the scenario of a fairly typical English countryside: a village pub around the corner, a church with a cemetery nearby, a newsagent combined with a post office, a clean street or two with or without a couple of local shops, lush lawns and beautifully maintained gardens dotted between houses. Surrounding the village there are hedged fields either of pastoral or crop land. It is a picture of forever green, orderly, quite, peaceful and relaxing rural landscape. Every aspiring English person in London would like to have a country house somewhere in Kent or Sussex or Essex for the weekends.
