Abstract
In a decision which, depending on one's perspective, either delivered 'unprecedented rights to shareholders' or established a principle which should be 'changed urgently, the High Courts's deliberatiopns in sons of Gwalia(subject to deeds of compony arrangement)v Margaretic certainly attracted considerable media attention. There is no doubt that this awareness will follow through to the practioner and academic community with the likelihood that pressure will be brought to bear on the Commonwealth Parliament with legislative reform a disrtinct possibility.
