Abstract
On December 8th, Prof. Paul Haddad,
Professor of Chemistry at the University
of Tasmania will be 60 years old. The general aim of his research has
been the study of separation mechanisms
and methods of detection, with a view to
improving fundamental understanding
of these aspects and to apply this
understanding to the development of
new chromatographic and electrophoretic
methods of analysis. His solid contributions in the general
field of separation science, with particular
emphasis on the separation and
quantification of ionic species using high
performance liquid chromatography, ion
chromatography, capillary electrophoresis
and capillary electrochromatography
have been appreciated worldwide. There is no doubt that Paul’s
wife, Kerry Haddad, has made major
contributions to his successful career.
Let us congratulate Professor Haddad
and join in wishing him many more
productive years in good health.
