This is the fourth major report on the project and outlines results to date on the Basin Analysis and Brine Chemistry modules. A summary of research findings from the 1993 honours field programme is also provided. The structural and sedimentological evidence for early (mid- and late-Tawallah) inversion events in the McArthur Basin
documented here has major implications for understanding fluid flow regimes during McArthur Group (HYC) times. Investigations into the origin(s) of alkali alteration, metal transport and ore depositional processes from sedimentary brines are also of significance in understanding regional-scale alteration and mineralisation features in the McArthur Basin.

The results presented here are derived primarily from the 1993 field season. The extensive field program mounted by the CODES research team could not have been achieved without the close cooperation and logistical support of the NTGS. In particular, we would like to acknowledge Paul Le Messurier, Barry Pietsch, Peter Haines, David (Rowdy) Rawlings and Brian Atkins.
