Abstract
Cities are focal points for both social and economic
interaction. Most of the manufacture and
final consumption of goods in western nations
take place in urban regions. The implementation
of new technologies, the evolution of organisational
structures, and changing patterns of
demand, transport options and costs, labour, and
spatial relations in urban regions are altering the
dynamics of goods distribution.
